Bartenders Key Tools
Flat Openers or Bar Keys are simple to use openers. i have modified this one to allow for opening in either the forward down position or the common upwards motion. it also has a slot on the rear to hook around your belt loop. length is just under 7 inches 14ga thick material is what i have found to work best.

Thanks for the great info, I feel like you’ve given some great detail that most leave out. I see you said 14 gauge. Is that mild steel? Do you heat treat it?
