Modular Fishplate Attachment System Tools

Summary

An easy way to add an accessory shelf to both brace the crossfire frame and provide a secure rack for any plasma cutter. The fishplates are meant to be cut in pairs, with one having small holes to make locating and welding a 2 inch square tube or 2 inch angle iron quick and easy. 11ga or 1/8" mild steel is used. To make the braces, cut two pieces of 2"x2"x16 ga. thickness square tube to 24 3/4", and 2 pieces of 1 1/2"x 1 1/2" or 2"x2" by 1/8" thickness angle to 33 7/16" and weld on the plates as shown. You will also need 16x 3" 1/4-20 bolts with washers and nuts to attach the plate sandwich. I recommend putting a thick piece of duct tape on the brace ends and the clamp plates so they do not mar the powder coat or your paint. The plates also work well to attach a common ebay filter/drier as shown with 2 more bolts. Adjust to your desired height and width to accommodate your cutter!
