Summary

This file should cut the top and bottom portions of a t-nut out of 1/4" steel. It should have a starter hole that you would use to drill and tap to whatever size stud your quick change holder uses. I found it to be a lot cheaper to cut this from a 1/4" steel plate that I had, and then weld the ends together - then drill and tap - over purchasing a t-nut from any other source that would fit this older machine. It works well on mine, hopefully it will work well on yours as well. The 1/4" plate is the appropriate size for the top slide t-slot. Lastly I used a fine thread stud for more clamping force, but I suspect that a course thread stud would have worked just the same. Note: I did find that I had to slightly grind the taper off of the pieces, as I cut mine on a plasma cnc and it was tapered enough that it would not slide in smoothly. It fit, but a little clearancing was required. This post is stupid simple, but if it helps someone out then it was worth it.
